A peaceful protest was carried out by the BJP at the Chakma Autonomous District Council’s headquarters in Kamalanagar today. The protest was held over the constant political crisis and instability, as well as several financial irregularities, corruption, and maladministration in the 10th CADC.
A memorandum was submitted to the Governor of Mizoram through SDO (Civil) Chawngte.
In the Memorandum, the BJP CADC alleged that the rival MNF MDCs of the present CEM Buddha Lila Chakma have been camping at CADC’s Rest House at Kamalanagar-II since November 8 for the removal of the present CEM of CADC and reportedly to propose and support another new CEM, who will incidentally be the 6th CEM of CADC within a period of four and a half years.
The BJP alleged that the existing MNF MDCs have completely failed to run the 10th CADC, and there will be constant infighting and political instability in the 10th CADC.

The BJP CADC also stated that the constant changing of CEMs and political instability of the 10th CADC has hampered development work and caused problems for CADC employees and the general public.
The BJP CADC leaders have strongly demanded that the Governor of Mizoram not accept any more proposals for the appointment of a new CEM for CADC.
The BJP demanded that the 10th CADC be put under Governor’s Rule on the basis of huge corruption and political instability for a certain period of time and thereafter call for fresh elections to the CADC.
