The Mizoram Assembly has adopted a resolution expressing opposition to the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and urging the Centre not to re-introduce the Bill in the future.
The development comes amid strong demands from the opposition in Mizoram that the ruling MNF must cut ties with the BJP-led NDA and the NEDA.
The state assembly unanimously adopted the resolution cutting across party lines, with legislators from both the ruling MNF and the opposition resolving to oppose the Bill.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura.
