A minor was swept away in heavy floods in Guwahati’s Rukminigaon area.

According to reports, the tragic incident took place when the 13-year-old boy tried crossing a drain.

There are no clues of the the whereabouts of the boy, although the SDRF is continuing its search operations. The boy has been identified as Noor Islam.

Meanwhile, along with the rest of Assam, heavy floods have also affected Jorabat on the outskirts of Guwahati city.

Jorabat is seeing heavy floods after heavy showers during the course of the day resulting in traffic being stalled on both sides of the road.

Floods led to the submerging of National Highway No 37 and National Highway No 6.
