Minor Girl Gang-Raped in Tripura, 2 Arrested

In yet another shocking incident, a minor girl was gang raped by two youths in the Irani police station area of Kailashahar under Unakoti district of Tripura.

The incident took place on December 8 when two youths contacted the 15-year-old girl, who was known to them and arranged a meeting over the phone.

The girl, unaware of their malicious intentions, met the duo, who then took her to a remote forested area near Latiyapura Gram Panchayat on a motorcycle and gang-raped her and left her unconscious.

Residents of the area later noticed the girl lying in the forest and immediately informed the police.

Acting swiftly, the Irani police rushed to the scene and rescued the girl. She is now undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Following a complaint from the victim’s family, the police registered a case and launched an investigation.

Based on phone call records, police identified and arrested the two accused within 48 hours.

The arrested youths have been identified as- Faruk Uddin (35) and Manik Miah (25), both residents of Samrurpara Gram Panchayat.

The duo were presented before the court today. After the hearing, they were remanded to Kailashahar Jail, with their next court appearance scheduled for December 20.
