Militants of Assam are procuring arms and ammunition’s thanks to the trade in rhino horns. This statement was made by Assam’s forest minister Parimal Suklabaidya.

The minister said, one single rhino horn can procure up to ten AK-47 rifles for militants and poachers.

This is the reason why rhino poaching is so rampant in the region. The minister opined that special steps have to be taken to counter this menace.
