The Mizoram Police along with Assam Rifles recovered a huge quantity of Methamphetamine (A highly addictive & dangerous drug) worth over Rs 6 crore and arrested one person in connection with the case.
Based on specific input, a joint team of Assam Rifles and Champhai Police conducted a search operation at Melbuk Road junction, Champhai on Monday.
During the operation, the team intercepted a vehicle. On checking the vehicle, the team recovered 2.163 kgs of Methamphetamine with a market value of Rs 6.489 crores.
The arrested person has been identified as Rohmingthanga (20), a resident of Zokhawthar village
In another operation, the state police with the Customs and Preventive Force personnel recovered foreign cigarettes with an estimated market value of Rs 26 Lakh from Champhai-Aizawl Road.
