Meitei Muslims offer prayers for peace and harmony in Manipur

Amid the unrest in Manipur, the Meitei Muslims, also known as Pangals, prayed for peace and communal harmony in the state today.

Hundreds of Meitei Muslims, or Pangals, gathered at Jame Masjid, located at Babupara, and offered prayers for peace and communal harmony. The mass prayer was organized under the initiative of the Pangal Committee of the Goodwill Mission for Peace in Manipur, with as many as nine Pangal bodies as its constituents. The Meitei Muslim leaders also said that the Pangals are ready to be peacemakers and play a pro-active role in bringing about peace and normalcy in Manipur.
