The Protests called by the Scheduled Tribe Demand Committee of Manipur (STDCM ) demanding the inclusion of the Meitei community in the Scheduled Tribes (ST) list of India continue unabated in the state.
STDCM along with Meira Paibis of Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai, local group Women Development Association today staged a sit-in protest in Imphal.
The STDCM decried that the government or the elected representatives are more interested in their political career and the power struggle and have sidelined the demand for a long.
Speaking to Northeast Live on the sidelines of the protest, STDCM general secretary, K. Bhogendrajit cautioned about intensifying their agitations if the government continues to remain indifferent to their demand.
