Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma who also holds the state finance portfolio on Friday said that the state is financially stable.
Stating that the central government did not pass the budget due to the elections for which the central schemes has not started to come in and that is the only difference of financial situation otherwise there is no issue, Sangma said that the state is quite stable financially but the way of the implementation of national schemes that normally takes place when national funds come in after the budget is passed could not be done this year.
Informing that almost 85 percent of the financial resources come from the centre. Sangma said that when the central government does not release the schemes due to the budgetary procedure it does comes in the way of implementation of schemes other than that there is no issue.
He also said that he is hopefully that when it’s done those areas of concern of national or central schemes will be addressed.
It may be mentioned that the only 15 to 18 percent has been the states own revenue and 80 to 85 of its financial resources comes from the centre.
