Meghalaya woman found dead under mysterious circumstances in Guwahati

Upon receiving information, Hatigaon police reached the spot and detained a man believed to be her lover

In yet another sensational incident, the body of a young woman from Meghalaya was found under mysterious circumstances in Guwahati’s Hatigaon area on Thursday.

The body was found inside her rented apartment in the Raj Path area of Hatigaon.

The deceased has been identified as Ritika Sonar, resident of Umsiling, Meghalaya.

As per inputs, the deceased was pursuing a professional course in Guwahati.

Hatigaon police reached the spot and detained a youth, who is believed to be her lover.

The youth has been identified as Rupesh Rai, a resident of West Bengal. It is being said that the duo was in a live-in relationship.

Police have started the preliminary investigation and have sent the body for post-mortem examination.

In another similar incident, another young woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Guwahati on November 24. The body was found inside a rented residence in Guwahati’s Hengerabari locality, near Amrit Udyan.

The deceased was a resident of Dhemaji district who was working as a beautician in the city.
