Meghalaya: Two Minors Killed, Three Critically Injured in Tragic Landslide

According to Gaonbura of Nolbari village, a excavator had dug up soil from the land of Nurul Amin Sarkar for the construction of his house.
Two children lost their lives, and three others were injured in a landslide at Nolbari village on Saturday morning. The tragedy occurred around 11:00 AM when a group of five children were playing near a mound of loose soil that had been excavated for house construction.
According to Gaonbura of Nolbari village, a excavator had dug up soil from the land of Nurul Amin Sarkar for the construction of his house. After completing the work, the excavator driver parked the vehicle and went inside Sarkar’s house for tea. Meanwhile, five children Aladin Sarkar, Rofizul Mollah, Moksedul Sk, Rakibul Alom, and Sahil Rahman came near the dug-up soil to play.
Suddenly, the mound of soil collapsed, burying all five children under the debris. Hearing their screams, the excavator driver, along with locals and other villagers, rushed to the scene and pulled them out. Unfortunately, Rakibul Alom and Sahil Rahman had already succumbed to the accident. The three surviving children were immediately rushed to Bhaitbari Community Health Centre (CHC) for medical treatment.
