The Meghalaya government has shot off a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs to rescue the stranded students from the state in war-torn Ukraine. The government also urged the MEA to ensure the safe return of all citizens hailing from Meghalaya.

Meanwhile, Meghalaya chief secretary Rebecca V Suchiang informed that a total of 17 students from Meghalaya are currently trapped in Ukraine.

The government has also issued helpline numbers for stranded students and persons hailing from Meghalaya stranded there. 

Notably, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma had also shared the helpline numbers yesterday on social media. Meanwhile, parents of stranded students from Meghalaya are also worried over the prevailing conditions in war-torn Ukraine.
