Meghalaya: Row over delay in ILP implementation; CoMSO threatens to intensify stir

The row over the delay in implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) is getting bigger in Meghalaya, with the pressure growing anxious over the delay in the process.

A day after Chief Minister Conrad Sangma informed that the Centre is still examining the proposal to implement the ILP in the state, the pressure groups questioned the alleged inadvertent delay.

The Confederation of Meghalaya Social Organisations (CoMSO) has decided to up the ante against alleged government apathy in implementing the Inner Line Permit in the state.

The COMSO is all set to carry out a black flag protest on Friday in support of its demand.

Talking to Northeast Live, COMSO secretary Roy Kupar Synrem said that the civil society organisations are unhappy with the dealing of the matter by the Centre. The COMSO leader also questioned as to why Meghalaya has been deprived of the ILP.
