Meghalaya: Heroin worth Rs 5.5 cr seized

One person identified as Lalbiakdik Vaiphei has been detained in connection with the incident.
Within hours of Meghalaya DGP Idashisha Nongrang taking charge as the DGP and announcing her decision to further crack the whip on drug peddlers and traffickers, the Anti Narcotics Task Force of Meghalaya seized heroin with an estimated market value of Rs 5.5 crores that had entered the state from Assam. The drugs weighing around 609 gms was packed in 58 soap boxes. One person identified as Lalbiakdik Vaiphei has been detained in connection with the incident.
