Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy has broken his silence over the demand of implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) System in the State.

Governor Roy indicated that implementation of ILP in the State would adversely affect the booming tourism sector in the State, signs of which has already been noticed at Cherrapunji.

The Governor informed that during his recent visit to the hot tourist spot of Cherrapunji, he noticed that many hotels and home stays were vacant and tourism has taken a hit.

Referring to the implementation of the demand of implementation of the Inner Line Permit System in the State, Governor Roy said that certain steps and measures are in offing, which might adversely affect the tourism sector.
