Meghalaya govt issues SOP for Govt job ads, exams and results in a time-bound manner

The CM further informed that processes for retirements and promotions will be done in a time-bound manner to avoid disruptions in functioning of offices.

The Meghalaya Government on Wednesday approved the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for ensuring time bound recruitment and promotion in the different government departments from this year onwards.

While speaking to media, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma said, “In the cabinet we have come up with SoPs for conducting exams, declaring results, advertisements, and the implementation of vacancies to be done so that the recruitment process is done in a much faster manner. So, all the different departments will be asked now to ensure that the vacancies that are there should be intimated within a specific period of time.”

“The MPSC or the department selections committees (DSCs) will be given specific time to fill up those vacancies, conduct the examinations and declare results”, CM added.

The CM further informed that processes for retirements and promotions will be done in a time-bound manner to avoid disruptions in functioning of offices.

In this regard, the CM said, “So in order to ensure timely promotion are given to people, who are obviously and who are supposed to get those promotion, we have figure out a process and SOP where the departments have been asked to do this entire exercise every six months and different processes to be completed way before the person retires.”

“So that when the person does retire, the promotion and the promotee is ready to take the space so that there is no gap between the retirement of an individual and the promotee to take their space,” he added.
