Taking the allegations to the next level, Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committe working president Vincent Pala has accused the BJP of being involved in a greater plan to deny VISA to a church pastor who was scheduled to take part in the celebration of 150 years of Christianity among the Garo Baptists in North Garo Hills district of the state.

Pala said he and the Congress party condemns rejection of VISA to the South Africa based pastor, Dr N Paul Paul Msiza , the president of the Baptist World Alliance who was slated to attend the five-day religious celebrations which began on Wednesday.  Pala claimed the pastor was intentionally denied VISA.

He also said that he had raised the issue with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and a message to that effect was also sent to the Indian Embassy in South Africa but nothing was done.

Assam Congress leader Bobeeta Sharma also joined Pala in accusing the BJP of trying to impose a saffron mindset. The Congress party that is facing a massive anti-incumbancy wave in Meghalaya.
