Sangma congratulated the 544 graduates who received their degrees at the ceremony, expressing his confidence that they would contribute to the growth story of Meghalaya and the country

During the IV Convocation Ceremony at The ICFAI University in Tura on Saturday, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma delivered a speech in which he highlighted the significance of building intellectual capacity and the ability to accept failure.

“I start with a purpose. I love the letter P because it gives me the word purpose, it also gives me the word passion, which ensures that I do not give up easily. I am a person who has failed many times in life, a lot of people have not heard of,” said Sangma, stressing the principle that he practices.

He further added, “The moment you are able to accept failure, it will be the biggest transformation of your life. Failure will be the best thing that will happen to you, trust me, it only depends on how you take it and move forward. If you are able to handle your failure, you will be prepared to face all challenges and accept success as well.”

Sangma congratulated the 544 graduates who received their degrees at the ceremony, expressing his confidence that they would contribute to the growth story of Meghalaya and the country. He also spoke about India’s stable economy and its status as one of the most significant manufacturing hubs in the world.

“In the last five years, India has become the biggest manufacturing hub, we are one of the most stable economies in the world today. A large number of countries are going through a recession or will be going through a recession but estimates are that India may be one of the few countries that will not be affected. Even if the global economy faces a recession, India will be stable,” said Sangma.

The ceremony was attended by Lt Gen Dr. Arvinder Singh Lamba, Chancellor of The ICFAI University, and Vice Chancellor Dr. Alicia Gatpoh, among others.

The Chief Minister’s speech emphasized the importance of starting with a purpose, passion, and intellectual capacity and accepting failure as a means of transformation.
