Meghalaya CM Inaugurates Anti-Narcotics Task Force Police Station in Shillong

ANTF Police Station will act as the central hub for monitoring, coordinating, and dismantling drug trafficking networks.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma inaugurated the Police Station of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) at the Meghalaya Police Radio Organisation Training School, Golf Links, Shillong on December 17. This initiative was under the government’s intensified efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse in the state.

The newly inaugurated ANTF Police Station will act as the central hub for monitoring, coordinating, and dismantling drug trafficking networks. It also aims to address various dimensions of the drug menace, including supply chain disruption, distribution control, rehabilitation of victims especially the youth and addressing the broader social and health impacts of substance abuse.

Taking to X, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma shared his thoughts on the occasion, writing, “Today was a momentous day in our fight against drugs. I had the honour of inaugurating the Anti-Narcotics Task Force Police Station in Shillong. This station will serve as a hub to monitor, coordinate, and dismantle drug trafficking networks. Our fight against drug abuse is not just the government’s mission—it’s a collective effort. Together, let’s protect our youth, safeguard our future, and build a drug-free Meghalaya.”

The Chief Minister said that tackling drug abuse requires collaborative efforts from the government, law enforcement, and the public. He urged citizens to join hands in protecting the youth and securing a brighter future for Meghalaya.
