The Meghalaya Government on Wednesday decided to let the state Board of School Education or MBOSE to go ahead with the Class 12 exams as per schedule, informed by Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong after a crucial review meet chaired by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.
Tynsong reassured the parents and guardians of those appearing the examinations that all Covid protocols will be duly followed in the examination halls.
It may be mentioned that the Centre today decided to cancel the board exams for CBSE Class 10 and postpone the exams for class 12.
Talking about the Covid situation in Meghalaya, the Deputy Chief Minister said the trend is alarming and there is no room for complacency.
While ruling out re-imposition of lockdown, Tynsong, however, said that the Government will hold 2-3 review meetings weekly to closely monitor the situation.
Tynsong reiterated that those coming to the state from outside Northeast will have to compulsorily undergo RTPCR tests.
The Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister also said that vaccines, whether taken in Government hospitals or private nursing homes, will be provided free of cost.
