Meghalaya: Charles Pyngrope says his daughter won’t contest Mawryngkneng bypoll

Senior Congress leader and Nongthymmai MLA Charles Pyngrope on Wednesday made it clear that his daughter will not contest the Mawryngkneng by-elections.

The Mawryngkneng assembly seat fell vacant after the demise of Pyngrope’s son and two time MLA David Nongrum.

The younger sister of late David Nongrum, Abigail is currently the Law Officer of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
