The Meghalaya cabinet has unanimously gave its approval for implementation of the Inner Line Permit system in the State.
The ILP will be tabled in the Meghalaya Assembly for passage on December 19.
Talking to mediapersons, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that the cabinet has unanimously given its approval to the ILP resolution which will be introduced and passed in the Assembly.
It may be mentioned that the demand for ILP had picked pace once again after the Centre pushed through with the Citizenship Amendment Bill making it an Act.
