Putting all speculations at rest the BJP has finally decided to field its candidate for the Shella by-polls.

BJP Chief Whip and South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai said that Joshua Warjiri will contest for the party in the by-poll slated for October 21.

Talking to Northeast Live, Sanbor Shullai said that the party is confident of winning the polls.

Shullai affirmed that the party’s position is secured with the fresh enrollment of at least 5000 members into the party. The BJP believes that it will make its way through division of votes among at least 7 candidates expected to be in fray.

It may be mentioned that BJP is the second MDA coalition partner of the UDP to field a candidate after the PDP. However, the NPP has extended its support to UDP’s Balajied Synrem.
