Speculation grows over BJP's internal shuffle as Chief Minister Conrad Sangma eyes changes in September.
Speculation is growing over a possible cabinet reshuffle in Meghalaya, with reports suggesting that BJP legislator Sanbor Shullai may replace senior BJP leader and Cabinet Minister AL Hek.
Sources indicate that Chief Minister Conrad Sangma could implement this reshuffle as early as September.
Although no official confirmation has been made, the possibility of a change in BJP’s cabinet representation has triggered intense political discussions.
When asked about the matter, Hek stated that the decision rests with the party leadership and that he would accept any course of action the party decides.
Interestingly, the buzz around the reshuffle comes amid BJP’s underwhelming performance in the recent district council elections, where the party’s results fell short of expectations. Despite the setback, party leaders remain optimistic about BJP’s long-term prospects in Meghalaya.
