Just a day after the Meghalaya state BJP expressed its concern over the slow implementation of central schemes in the state, another Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) partner, the Hill State
Just a day after the Meghalaya state BJP expressed its concern over the slow implementation of central schemes in the state, another Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) partner, the Hill State People’s Democratic Party or the HSPDP has asked CM Conrad Sangma to convene a meeting of the MDA coordination committee to discuss various pending inquires and issues in the state.
Supporting BJPs stance on an urgent need of an MDA partner meet & speaking exclusively to Northeast Live HSPDP Chief Pangniang Stating said “We the HSPDP also endorse the sentiment and the statement of the BJP.”
He expressed concern over the fact that Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has not convened the coordination committee meeting of the ruling MDA for some time now. The last time that the MDA coalition partners met on such a platform was during July this year.
The HSPDP chief reminded that since day one when the government was formed, it was agreed upon that if not every month, the meeting will be held quarterly.
Pangniang also stated that at the time it was decided collectively that the working committee meeting of the coalition partners of MDA partners will take place regularly “ if not monthly then once in a quarter”. He added that the committee can meet then “share together, discuss together, debate together and bring some new idea” whatever the MDA partners feel need to be discussed.
“I request the Hon’ble Chief Minister will take a call on this and we all need to share so many issues in the best interest of the people,” he urged.
Speaking on the ongoing inquires Pangniang added, that it is the bounded duty of the government to complete the issues on time before the 2023 Assembly polls. Meanwhile, appreciating the government for ordering an inquiry for all the alleged scams he hoped that issues will be solved in time.
The July meeting of the MDA coordination committee meet took place at the insistence of the BJP which was later endorsed by UDP followed by other coalition partners.
