The Awaken India Movement, Meghalaya unit, held a peaceful rally today outside Shillong Civil Hospital to draw attention to pressing civil rights issues and demand justice for citizens.
The rally primarily focused on opposition to Aadhaar enrollment and medical interventions, with organizers urging the government not to force people for Aadhaar enrolment stating that it violates constitutional rights.
Protesters displayed banners with strong messages, including “Government!! Don’t Force the People For Aadhaar,” “Citizens Demand Justice For Freedom of Movement,” and “People Who Are Living Under Democracy Are Neglected For Partycrazy.”
The Awaken India Movement emphasized that the government must prioritize the rights and needs of the people over political interests to foster genuine democracy and justice.
Earlier, the Meghalaya Government urged all citizens to get themselves registered for Aadhaar at the earliest as non-registered citizens may be unable to avail of various central government subsidies and benefits.
DGP Sharma, informed that the two accused have gone underground after the crime.
