Meghalaya: Assam Rifles Half Marathon 2024 Kicks Off In Shillong

The much-awaited 4th edition of the Assam Rifles Half Marathon (ARHM) 2024 kicked off on Sunday, (24th November 2024) in Shillong.
The marathon saw an overwhelming response as over 1,900 participants from all age groups, representing 28 states and three union territories, took part in the event.
The marathon was flagged off from the Assam Rifles headquarters at Laitkor in Shillong, and organized under the Fit India Movement.
It also stood out as the first Green Marathon in the Northeast, emphasizing environmental sustainability through zero plastic use and waste recycling initiatives.
The marathon had three categories: the 21 km ‘Cloud Chase’, 10 km ‘Pine Path’, and 5 km ‘Crystal Stream’. Winners received medals, certificates, souvenirs, and cash prizes, alongside consolation prizes.

Mary Kom expressed her pleasure for being able to be a part of the marathon.
AOC-in-C Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal Surat Singh, who graced the event as the chief guest, lauded the enthusiasm of participants and spectators.
