A 17-year-old girl from the North Garo Hills district in Meghalaya was allegedly bludgeoned to death by her stepfather on Friday.

As per reports, the girl was allegedly raped on multiple occasions by her stepfather who would, on the pretext of assisting her, sexually assaults the young girl as often as not.

While superintendent of police, North Garo Hills, Abraham T Sangma said that the accused hit her head with a blunt object before fleeing the scene.

Police were on the lookout for him and raided multiple places. However, after hiding in a friend’s place last night, he was found hanging in a nearby jungle.
