The national Highway 15 in Gohpur was blocked by several dalit groups causing a protracted halt in the daily commute of the area.

The blockade took place owing to the massive unrest by scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, nationwide regarding the anticipatory bail act by Supreme Court. The apex court on March 20 had introduced the provision of anticipatory bail in the act while directing that there would be no automatic arrest on any complaint filed under the law.

In a retaliation to this amendment, several Dalit student groups blocked railways again bringing the transportation to a standstill in areas like Udalguri affecting the daily lives. Police has responded by arresting 7 Bharat Bandh supporters in Golaghat as of now.
