Massive Protest in Kangpokpi Over Jiribam Shooting Incident
A massive demonstration was staged today in Kangpokpi as Kuki-Zo protestors filled the streets of Gamgiphai, venting out their anguish over the Jiribam shootout where 10 Hmar Village Volunteers were killed. Thousands gathered under the banner of the Committee on Tribal Unity and demanded accountability and an end to what they call targeted violence against their community. Protestors accused the CRPF of conspiring with the Manipur police, armed Meitei groups, pointing to a series of brutal incidents as evidence of a coordinated campaign.
