An uneasy calm prevails in peripheral villages in Imphal West as womenfolk come forward to keep vigil in the border villages.
Northeast Live correspondents visited some of these peripheral villages such as Senjam Chirang, Senjam Khunou and Loitang Khunou to take stock of the situation. Womenfolk could be seen coming out in large numbers to keep vigil and to prevent any untoward incident. Despite Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s assurance to stop the violence, the womenfolk claimed that they are yet to see any visible action amid reports of fresh arson even today in Leimakhong area.
