Manipur: Suspected Landmine or IED Attack at EX-MLA’s House in Kangpokpi, Wife Dead

The explosion took place when Haokip's wife Sapam Charubala, went to clean the surroundings of what was a vacant house last night.

In a fresh incident of violence, former Saikul MLA in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district came under attack after a suspected land mine or IED exploded at his residence leading to the death of his wife. The former MLA and his daughter, however, had a narrow escape. As per inputs, the explosion took place when Sapam Charubala, the wife of former MLA Yamthong Haokip went to clean the surroundings of what was a vacant house abandoned by their son a few months ago.
