Manipur student death case: School principal and her daughter remanded for 15 days

In connection with the death of 13-year-old Babysana Chanu, Pheiroijam Landhoni- the founder cum principal of the Standard Robert High School and her daughter Romita was produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West on Tuesday, wherein the court sent the duo to Jail on 15 days judicial remand.

The court also rejected the bail pleas applied by the counsel of L Romita, who is the coordinator of Standard Robert Hr Secondary School.

The duo were earlier arrested by Special Investigation Team on August 3, in connection with the death of the minor, who was found allegedly hung to death at her hostel room on July 18.

Meanwhile, a large number of security personnel were deployed in and around the court complex to have smooth proceedings of the case.
