The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Imphal West rejected the pre-arrest anticipatory bail plea of Pheiroijam Romita, the co-ordinator of Standard Robert Higher Secondary school, in connection with the mysterious death of Babysana Chanu.
Romita applied for the pre-arrest anticipatory bail plea on July 20 and the hearing took place yesterday at CJM court.
During the hearing, women members of JAC and women from Ema market gathered outside the court and demanded the court not to accept the bail plea of the school coordinator.
The protester shouted slogan and also tried to enter the court premises. However, police fired mock bomb to control the irate mob.
During the hearing, the court observed that that the investigation is in full swing and allowed custodial interrogation on school coordinator Pheiroijam Romita.
Meanwhile, the SIT also had earlier arrested the son of the school principal Pheiroijam Robinson on July 29 and he was produced before the CJM court on July 30. Robinson was remanded to a 7- day police custody. Both Robison and Romita will be produce before the CJM court on August 5.
N Babysana of Thangmeiband Maisnam Leikai, a Class VII student was found allegedly hung to death mysteriously inside the hostel room of the Standard Robert Higher Secondary School on July 18.
