Manipur Rifles Personnel Arrested With 10.2 Kg Of WY Tablets in Kakching

The CDO-Kakching team apprehended the accused at Pallel Mamang Leikai, seizing around 10.2 kg of suspected WY (World is Yours) tablets.

A rifleman from the 1st Manipur Rifles, attached to the CID (SB) and posted at Khongjom Post, was arrested in Kakching district for possession of a large quantity of drugs. Chief Minister N Biren Singh confirmed the incident on 2 January.

The CDO-Kakching team apprehended the accused at Pallel Mamang Leikai, seizing around 10.2 kg of suspected WY (World is Yours) tablets. The haul is valued at several lakhs in the illegal drug trade.

Chief Minister Singh praised the swift action of the CDO-Kakching team and expressed concern over the involvement of security personnel in drug-related activities. “This arrest highlights the corrosive impact of drug money within our forces. It is a call for stricter vigilance and action,” he stated.

The incident raises urgent questions about the infiltration of drug networks into law enforcement and the need for comprehensive reforms.
