Manipur Rail connectivity : Excavation work in hill section complete

In a major breakthrough for rail connectivity in Manipur, the tunnel excavation in the hill areas for the main tunnel number T-12 connecting Tupul to Imphal has been completed.
The tunnel excavation work was reportedly completed today afternoon and now the tunneling has entered the portion of the Imphal Valley. The Northeast Frontier Railways conducted a breakthrough blast to mark the successful completion of the excavation work of the main tunnel for length of 7.5 kilometers from Portal-1 to Face-5.
