SP Cyber Crime Police, Manipur, Ningombam John, confirmed that all suspects had been summoned for questioning.
In some prompt action, Manipur Police arrested four teachers for their involvement in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLCE) Social Science question paper, and Class 12 Physics question paper leak cases.
Of the four arrested, two teachers – Samadram Meghachandra Singh, a Social Science teacher from Haokha Mamang Leikai, Thoubal district, and Yumnam Ranjit Singh, vice-president of a local school,
have been sent to judicial custody in connection with the leak of the High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLCE) Social Science question paper. The other two have been arrested for leaking the Class 12 Physics question paper of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM).
The Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) had filed a complaint after the Social Science paper was found circulating online on February 25. Following an investigation, police arrested the two on March 1.
In the Class 12 Physics question paper leak case, the accused, Sunil Singh, a Physics teacher at Paradise English School, Thoubal, and an Assistant Officer-in-Charge (AOC) at the exam center, along with Ningombam Jagdish Singh, a Chemistry teacher at the same school, were taken into custody on March 3 and 4. Sunil Singh, who also runs a private hostel, allegedly played a key role in the leak.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, SP Cyber Crime Police, Manipur, Ningombam John, confirmed that all suspects had been summoned for questioning. “Some individuals were also involved in the Class 11 examination. Investigations have just begun, and we are investigating into two separate question paper leaks one from the Class 10 examination conducted by BOSEM and the other from the Class 12 examination under COHSEM,” he stated.
