Manipur political crisis resolved: NPP, BJP to work together

NEDA Convener Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday confirmed that the BJP and NPP will continue to work together for the development of Manipur, which brings the week-long political crisis in the state to an end.

Taking to Twitter Sarma informed, “A NPP delegation led by Conrad Sangma and Dy Chief Minister of Manipur Sri Y Joy Kumar Singh met Honourable Home minister Sri Amit Shah ji today in New Delhi. Both BJP and NPP will continue to work together for the development of Manipur.”

National People’s Party (NPP) president and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma met BJP leader and Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday to discuss the political situation in Manipur after 4 NPP and 3 BJP MLAs withdrew their support from the state government.

Sarma further informed that the NPP delegation led by party national president Conrad Sangma and Manipur Deputy Chief minister Y Joykumar Singh met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda in Delhi today.

It may be mentioned that 4 MLAs of the NPP, who had withdrawn support from the BJP-led coalition government in Manipur last week, were on Tuesday flown to Delhi accompanied by NEDA convener Himanta Biswa Sarma and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to resolve the political instability in the state.
