Police also directed that a proper record must be maintained to reflect all verification activities and actions taken.

After the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Home Minister Amit Shah directed all Chief Ministers to identify and deport Pakistani nationals living illegally in their jurisdictions. Responding to the directive, Manipur Police is preparing to launch a verification drive across the state to detect illegal Pakistani and Bangladeshi immigrants.

On Wednesday, India announced the cancellation of all visas issued to Pakistani nationals, effective from April 27, as part of a five-step diplomatic counter-offensive following the attack.

Reliable sources said that Manipur Police has instructed all police stations to carry out surveys, verify the presence of suspected illegal immigrants, and take necessary legal action as per the law against anyone found staying without valid documents. Police also directed that a proper record must be maintained to reflect all verification activities and actions taken.

Sources further said that police have flagged several areas, including Lilong, Minuthong Hapta, Khurai Heikru Makhong, Kairang, Mayang Imphal, Kwakta, Borayangbi, Khetrigao, Sora, Andro, Wabagai, and other Pangal/Muslim-dominated villages, where there may be Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals staying illegally without valid visas or Inner Line Permits (ILP).

The police have asked all stations to initiate necessary measures immediately and ensure the submission of detailed reports in due course.

Meanwhile, continuing its crackdown against traitors for defending Pakistan on Indian soil, following the deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22 that left 28 dead, Assam Police have so far arrested a total of 22 people for posting pro-Pakistan and anti-national comments on social media.

Those arrested include politicians, students, leaders and a woman. The accused are charged with promoting the cause of Pakistan through their social media posts.
