Manipur police picks up 3 including one ex-MLA amid fresh flare-up in state today

3 people including one ex-MLA, said to be involved in threatening vendors and shopkeepers at New Checkon (New Lambulane) in Imphal East earlier in the day today were picked up.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that peace was returning in Manipur in the last 10 days and such incidents could flare up the violence. With Centre’s intervention and public cooperation, Manipur is limping back to normalcy. He sought people’s cooperation in restoring peace and normalcy in the state.
