Manipur police busts illegal arms manufacturing factory

During the joint operation, the security forces recovered a stock of the local gun and gun parts with factory tools.
In a special joint operation, troops of the 113 battalions of BSF and Churachandpur Police today busted a local arms manufacturing unit and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition at New Lamka in the Churachandpur district.
The joint operation was launched based on inputs provided by FGT BSF Imphal regarding the illegal arms, manufacturing at Shiamtund Village in Churachandpur district, and supplying manufactured illegal arms to some UG Groups.
During the joint operation, the security forces recovered a stock of the local gun and gun parts with factory tools.
The accused has been identified as Pauminlun Suantak who is a resident of Shiamtund Village at New Lamka in the Churachandpur district of Manipur.
The security forces conducted a thorough search around the village however, the main culprit Pauminlun Suantak could not be found.
Hence an FIR has been registered against the accused person. Further investigations are underway.
