Manipur Police Arrest Key Suspect in Assault of Senapati Youths

The incident occurred last Thursday, when two youths from Senapati district were reportedly attacked and robbed in Thoubal.

The Manipur Police have made significant progress in the investigation into the recent assault on two youths from Senapati district with the arrest of one suspect, Khullem Sanjeep, on November 3.

Sanjeep, a resident of Naoremthong DC Road, was taken into custody for his alleged involvement in the violent incident that took place in the Lamsang area of Thoubal district in the early hours of October 31. He has been remanded to police custody.

The arrest comes amid heightened tensions and public outcry in the district. The Naga People’s Organization (NPO) had called for a 24-hour lightning shutdown in Senapati district to protest the assault. The incident occurred last Thursday, when two youths from Senapati district were reportedly attacked and robbed in Thoubal.
