Manipur Police Arrest 3 Cadres of KCP-N In Extortion Case

The arrested individuals are identified as Sanju Wahengbam (20 years), Soibam Manoj Singh (27 years) and, Soibam Lanchenba Meitei (24 years)

Manipur Police arrested three active cadres of the proscribed outfit, the Kangleipak Communist Party (Nongdrenkhomba) from Imphal West district.

The three KCP (N) cadres were arrested at Khori Arcade in Hiyangthang.

The arrested individuals are identified as Sanju Wahengbam (20 years), Soibam Manoj Singh (27 years), and, Soibam Lanchenba Meitei (24 years).

According to the police, the trio was involved in extortion activities.

From their possession, police have also recovered three mobile handsets, cash worth Rs 50,110 and one four wheeler vehicle.

Apart from this, Manipur Police also continued with search operations and area domination in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts.

Earlier, on August 13, security forces arrested two alleged members of the banned KCP-N in Imphal.
Joint teams of police and central security forces conducted a search operation in Paona Bazaar, where they apprehended Hirom Kisan Meitei alias Luckyson (22) and Waikhom Somenkumar Singh alias Dexter (22). The duo is suspected to be involved in extortion activities targeting local businesses.
