Concerned over the ever rising drug abuse amongst youngsters, Kuki Students’ Organization in Churachandpur, Manipur organised a one-day public consultation with civil society organisations, church leaders, village authorities, and youth clubs on drug abuse and its mitigation.
The programme was held at the Kuki Inpi complex in Tuibong Ccpur.
During the address, the KSO General Secretary, Minlal Gangte, said that the Kuki Students Organization has taken up the drive from March 2022.

During the drive, over 20 to 50 students consuming brown sugar and WY were found each day, stressing the need for an anti-drug campaign by church leaders, student communities, and other areas of life.
However, the KSO General Secretary noted that as of 2022, the trend of drugs has changed. Most of the users are now taking brown sugar as it has no smell. Even minor girls were found selling brown sugar in classrooms secretly.
