Manipur: Internally Displaced Person Shot by Unidentified Miscreants

The attack took place around 8:55 PM near Krypsa Ground, Langol Road, close to the Deputy Commissioner's office.

An internally displaced man, currently working as a security guard at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), was shot in the leg by unidentified miscreants on Game Village Road in Imphal West district on Wednesday night.

The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Leishangthem Kritinganba, son of L. Angou from Churachandpur, who has been living at Langol Game Village, Langol Zone-IV, after being displaced due to ongoing violence.

The attack took place around 8:55 PM near Krypsa Ground, Langol Road, close to the Deputy Commissioner’s office, under the jurisdiction of Lamphel Police Station. Reports state that unknown assailants shot Kritinganba in the left thigh before fleeing the scene.

Local residents quickly rushed him to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for immediate medical treatment. His condition is reported to be stable.
