The government will decide if the state should seek measures such as the NRC from the central government.

Chief Minister Biren Singh while speaking to Northeast Live informed that people in the state have witnessed a sudden population jump in certain areas and have demanded the implementation of the NRC in Manipur.

CM Singh said without verification the government cannot say who is who in the state, and only after implementing the ID card system will the state government seek help from the center.
