Manipur: Fresh Drone Bomb Attacks Reported from Kangchup Hills in Imphal West

The incident took place last night. Miscreants targeted Security Posts of the 5th Manipur Rifles stationed at Kangchup.
In a fresh escalation of violence in conflict-hit Manipur, at least 2 alleged drone attacks have been reported from the Kangchup Hills in Imphal West bordering Kangpokpi.
At least 2 bombs were allegedly dropped using drones in the area last evening. Manipur Police, along with a Forensic Science team, rushed to the site and collected crucial evidence, said sources.
The incident took place last night. Miscreants targeted Security Posts of the 5th Manipur Rifles stationed at Kangchup.
The bombs exploded at separate times, causing some damage to the security post. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported.
Immediately after the incident, authorities were alerted, and teams from the Imphal West District Police and the Forensic Science Department rushed to the site.
Today, they inspected the area and confirmed the details of the attack. They also recovered several parts of the bombs that had been dropped during the bombing.
In response to the attack, an investigation has been launched to identify the culprits and determine the exact motive behind the bombing. Security forces in the region have been placed on high alert.
Special attention is being given to the surrounding areas of Kangchup, particularly those near the border with Kangpokpi, which remains a sensitive and high-risk area.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any further attacks and ensure the safety of the people in the region.
