The Narcotics and Affairs of Border arrested chairman of Autonomous District Council of Chandel district, Lutkhosei Zou and seven others with drugs worth over Rs 27 crore.

The team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border police arrested eight persons including the Chandel Autonomous District Council chairman with the contraband items on Tuesday night.

The seized drugs include 4.5 kg of heroine worth over Rs 13 crore and 28 kg of World is Yours Amphetamine tablets worth Rs 14 crore.  Two suitcases full of heroine were recovered from the driver of the ADC chairman. Meanwhile, following a revelation by the driver the NAB team raided the official quarter of the ADC chairman and recovered 2 lakh World is yours tablets.

The Narcotics and Affairs of Border team led by ASP, Thonajom Brinda also seized several lakhs of currency during the multiple raids carried out on Tuesday night.
