Manipur Declares Half-Holiday on January 20 to Honour Late MLA N. Kayisii

The Government of Manipur has declared a half-holiday on January 20, from 1:00 PM onwards for all government offices and institutions.

The Government of Manipur has declared a half-holiday on January 20, Monday, from 1:00 PM onwards for all government offices and educational institutions under its jurisdiction. This decision was made as a mark of respect to the late N. Kayisii, MLA of the 49-Tadubi Assembly Constituency, who passed away on January 18.

The state paid homage to the late MLA during a solemn mourning ceremony held on Sunday morning at his official residence in Lamphel, Imphal West District.

The ceremony witnessed the participation of several Ministers, MLAs, government officials, leaders of the National People’s Party (NPP), and other dignitaries. A gun salute was accorded to the late legislator as part of the state’s tribute.

Following the state mourning, the funeral ceremony took place at the personal residence of the late MLA in Senapati District. Additionally, a condolence program was organised at the Senapati Traffic Point, where local residents and leaders gathered to pay their respects and remember his contributions.
