All adults will be able to get free booster doses of the Coronavirus vaccine at government centers under a special drive over the next 75 days from Friday.

Covid cases are once again on the rise in Manipur. With 70 fresh cases detected in the last 24 hours, Manipur’s active Covid caseload currently stands at 268.

In such a scenario, the Manipur health department has reactivated its Covid prevention mechanism.

Meanwhile, Manipur health Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan has assured that the health department under his supervision has taken up appropriate steps to handle the rising Covid cases in the state.

Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, Ranjan said that all the Covid care centers have been activated. He also said that the prominent hospitals of the state like the RIMS, JNIMS, and every district hospital have been notified to activate their Covid preventive measures and create special facilities for Covid patients. He also said that patients who are in home isolation are also being monitored.

Talking about the vaccination drive in Manipur, Sapam Ranjan quite explicitly expressed displeasure in the area. He said that the vaccination drive is lagging behind and has failed to meet the targets that they had set.

Ranjan said that there is still a lot of hesitancy among people to take the vaccines. He said that the government and the concerned authorities will get down to spreading awareness among the people to get themselves vaccinated.

Meanwhile, all adults will be able to get free booster doses of the Coronavirus vaccine at government centers under a special drive over the next 75 days from Friday.

Aimed at improving the third dose coverage, the drive will be held as part of the government’s Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations to mark the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.
